In the age of blind spot assist and other driver assistance technologies, there doesn’t seem to be any place left for a tiny round mirror with minimal rear visibility. But as an owner of a ‘71 Carrera, the Durant mirrors somehow never disappoint. Look, they do the job, no more, and no less. Maybe it’s a personality thing—I’m not one to try and look too deep in the past, and the Durant’s show me just enough of what’s behind me, and a little of what’s coming up on me. Even with such beautiful lines, I’m resigned to seeing less and less of them on the road, so I was curious about incorporating them into home design, to keep them alive in some way.
